I’m running for Minnesota Senate because I want to give back to our community – for better schools, safe neighborhoods, and opportunity for everyone. Listening to you and solving problems together is the path to building a brighter future for our community.

I’ve lived in Eagan since 1992, so I know and love this vibrant area of Minnesota. I’ve been married to my husband Jim for over 30 years. We have four adult kids, a demanding cat, and a sweet rescue dog.
I’ve been active in our community for decades. I’m a hockey mom who managed my kids’ teams, and served on the Eastview Hockey Board as registrar, coordinator of the girls’ league, and organized the fundraising program. I was also an active volunteer at Eagan ISD 196 schools as my kids made their way from elementary school through high school. I’ve invested my time in creating a just place in our state where everyone belongs and feels welcome.
My son and I benefited directly from the support of our fellow Minnesotans. I’m a survivor of domestic violence and was a single mom for several years, so I’m dedicated to strengthening the programs that helped us.
I worked for 30 years in the business community, including 12 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield right here in Eagan. In my professional life, I focused on understanding needs and implementing cost-effective and people-centered solutions. I’m a certified Executive Coach and wrote a business advice column in the Star Tribune for about 12 years.
Before I was elected to the House, I actively volunteered for our DFL candidates, participating in door-knocking and phone banking events to get Democrats elected. As a Representative, I worked with candidates in swing districts to advocate for Democrats across the state. I also made a conscious commitment to use my time and privilege to work for racial and economic justice in Minnesota. My husband volunteers regularly at The Open Door Pantry in Eagan (and I join in when I can), so we’re committed to helping families in our community live with dignity.
I’ve also volunteered for organizations working for justice, and consciously lift up people who are too often let down by our systems. I continue to work to ensure that all voices are part of building the future of our community.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Chinese from the University of Minnesota, and a master’s degree in Political Science (Research Methodology and Public Policy) from The Ohio State University. I love hiking, kayaking, yoga, visiting our parks, cooking, and studying foreign languages.
I look forward to hearing from you.
