Eagan, Minnesota – Liz Reyer, a 30-year resident of Eagan, is running for election to the Minnesota Senate for District 52, representing Burnsville, Eagan, Mendota, and Mendota Heights. A problem solver and coalition builder, Rep. Liz Reyer has served the south metropolitan area in the Minnesota House of Representatives since 2021, and is now running to represent all of Senate District 52 for powerful, lasting change.
“As State Representative from District 52A, I’ve delivered results—improving health care access, advocating for infrastructure investments, and fighting for equity. Now, I'm ready to bring that experience to the State Senate. There, I can collaborate across the greater community, dive deeper into tough issues, and work toward long-term change. Together, we’ll ensure every community in our area continues to have a strong voice—today, tomorrow, and for years to come.”
Rep. Liz Reyer’s work in the Minnesota House of Representatives has been extensive, covering a wide range of areas that affect Minnesotans. Rep. Reyer has served as Vice Chair of both the Health Finance and Policy Committee and the Capital Investment Committee. Throughout her tenure, she has championed investments to strengthen Minnesota’s healthcare outcomes and infrastructure, supported policies that promote the economic well-being of families and businesses, and advanced initiatives to ensure responsible climate stewardship.
Liz has been a friendly and committed neighbor in the Eagan community for three decades. She's a long-time community volunteer, having served on the Eagan Athletic Association and Eastview Hockey boards. Rep. Reyer is the parent of four grown children, and she and her spouse, Jim, live in Eagan. With a strong track record, a passion for community, and a vision for the future, Liz is ready to bring her leadership to the Senate.
If elected, Rep. Reyer would be honored to carry forward the legacy of Sen. Jim Carlson, who is retiring after serving in the Minnesota Senate since 2006.
“Senator Jim Carlson has represented our community with distinction and has a strong record of accomplishment. I’m grateful for his contributions and look forward to carrying forward the important work for our community, facing head-on the unique challenges and opportunities before us.”
